A Tee of our Own! This beautifully curated BLK&WHITE Collection commemorates the brilliance and resilience of all the Black Ballers who pioneered and transcended the game of basketball from the concrete to the hardwood.

Much like most American and sports history, African-Americans were not always allowed to play alongside White players as they do now. Before the NBA’s integration in 1950 allowing African-Americans to play in the Association, we had the Black Fives era, featuring the first organized all African-American basketball teams. There was also the Harlem Globetrotetters, who entertained and dazzled fans globally with their exuberating skills and fun nature. These men and women were true pioneers of the game; breaking many barriers and socially influential in showing that African-Americans could excel on a professional level.

The successful merger of the NBA and ABA in 1976 was also a pivotal point in basketball history in shaping how the game is played today. Although the merger left a few players and coaches unemployed, it brought over transcending-flashy, mesmerizing highflyers, and 3 point shooting stars such as Julius “Dr. J” Irving, George “The Iceman” Gervin, Dan Issel, Moses Malone, David Thompson, Bobby Jones and George McGinnis. These influential rebels at the time, most notably Bill Russel, have paved the way for players like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Lebron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards and many more to fully express themselves on and off the court and take the game to great heights as we enjoy it today.
